ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Beyond Boobs!® is a breast health, not breast cancer, organization with a focus on health and wellness. (They have several chapters located in the Hampton Roads area.) They promote “breast health action” rather than “breast cancer awareness.”

Support Function

Under our mission to provide a support system for young women diagnosed with breast cancer before menopause, our goal is to love and support these young women back into health – body, mind and spirit. Cancer affects all three areas, and the effects can last long after the surgeries and treatments are over.

Education Function

Under our mission to provide breast health education for all, our goal is to offer a unique approach to inspire and encourage women, even young women, to take charge of their breast health and practice early detection techniques.

The breast cancer awareness campaign, which now owns the month of October, has brought much needed attention to the breast cancer crisis, but mere awareness is not enough.  Our focus is breast health action 12 months of the year so women go beyond awareness of breast cancer to actively practicing early detection techniques, our best weapon against this disease. We know that fear, denial, lack of knowledge and busyness are four roadblocks that keep women from practicing the life-saving early detection methods of monthly breast self-exams, annual mammograms (at least at 40 years old), and annual clinical exams. We combat these four roadblocks by providing breast health education through attention getting approaches such as:

SCOPE of WORK:

I absolutely love working with the women of Beyond Boobs!. I have created everything from their logo to rack cards and everything in-between, including their ”Breast Health Manual Disguised as a Calendar; ‘A Calendar to Live By’. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I am choosing to highlight just the calendar. You can help support their mission by  purchasing a calendar here.

A Calendar to Live by, A Very Special Project to save lives by increasing breast health awareness in all women. This 12 month calendar features local breast cancer survivors, health tips, and inspiration.
