Phil Greasley's Sea fury

Phil Greasley came over to my shop one evening to
show me his new Sea Fury and to check on the location of the Center of Gravity
(CG). If you haven't used this technique to balance a model, you should try it.
The model is suspended in a sling and a small plumb bob is hung from the same
line the sling is attached to. The CG will be directly below the plumb bob. If a
weight is added to the nose or tail, the model moves beneath the bob to show the
new CG.

In this shot, the plumb bob is above the rear of the tape. The desired CG range is between the marks on the tape, so it is currently tail heavy.

Phil has done a lot of work on surface detail. This is not an ARF! It is a built-up Top Flight kit. The panel lines and rivets and that great looking cockpit are all a sign of Phil's skill as a scale modeler.
