Scout
Day at NNPRCC
On
October 29th, the club hosted members of Boy Scout Troop 123 from
Yorktown, VA and helped them earn some of the requirements for their Aviation
Merit Badge. The events of the day
included discussions on aerodynamics, airport procedures, aviation careers, and
airmanship. The capstone of the day
was the opportunity for the scouts to pilot an R/C aircraft.
Each scout was able to make at least two flights and even the scout dads
were able to fly with the aid of a buddy box.
The
following pictures encapsulate the days events:

Club
member Owen Dwire explains the aerodynamic forces
acting on an aircraft in flight.

Yes,
it’s cold!! We’ll all go sit in the cars after
another 30 min of talking!
