Are
you ready for
Catapalooza?
September 13 & 14, 2008
at the
Keowee Sailing Club
in South Carolina.

Are you interested in an exhilarating, physical, and
challenging water sport that doesn't require gasoline?
Join us for Catapalooza!
Perhaps you or your family already own a boat but
don't use it very often because of parts issues or
apprehension about sailing techniques? Maybe you already
sail but want to try a multihull? Even if you do not own
a boat, this program is designed to introduce
individuals and families to the experience of multihull
sailing. Instruction on sailing techniques, racing
rules, and/or safety will be available and there will be
“fun run” distance races. The formal event activities
are up to the participants but there will be a strict
focus on relaxing, sailing, and fun! Demonstration boats
will be available as will positions on boats with
experienced sailors. Be sure to contact us early to lock
in a ride!
Small sailing multihulls are exhilaratingly fast (speeds
up to 25 mph), lightweight, don't require special tow
vehicles, and can be launched into the water from just
about any location. They've been breaking the
traditional sailing scene since the 1960's when the
first Hobie Cat brand “beachcat” became popular. Those
very designs are still alive and well today and in many
cases, a 20 year old boat can play or race on an even
level with boats built last week. Other catamaran
classifications push the edge of technology for greater
performance and speed and the physical requirements
range from mild to extreme. There is a style of beach
cat available for every budget, every family, and every
individual.
Catapalooza is an
event designed for fun and to introduce people into the
sport. To show that you are interested in this
opportunity, please visit fill out and submit the form
